Gerald Albright Fairfax Concert reviews
not the zombie we used to know
The show's opening with the smokescreen and the way they came out on stage was pretty cool. However, I didn't think the beginning performance was that great. Gerald Albright kept holding the mic out to the crowd to hear them sing along. I didn't pay that much money for a Gerald Albright ticket to hear the crowd sing his songs; I could hear that on karaoke night at my local bar. It did improve mid-night, though. The song selection he sang was pretty good, with a little bit of everything from the whole Zombie collection performed. The background screen show was pretty good, but it got a little distracting at times, and you could easily miss what's going on onstage. I think the drum solo and guitar solo were a bit lengthy and unnecessary. These guys are good musicians, and they don't need to prove it. The highlight of the night was when Gerald Albright jumped into the crowd and walked around everyone with his spotlight. What other musician would have the balls to do that?
